The prevalence of diagnosed diabetes varies by Government Office Region in England for both men and women. The age-standardised prevalence is highest for men (6.5%) in the North West and for women (5.4%) in Yorkshire and the Humber and the West Midlands. Rates are lowest for men in the East Midlands (4.6%) and for women in the South West (2.6%).
