Regional differences in alcohol consumption |

On a regional basis, using the updated method for estimating units consumed, the proportions consuming more than the recommended daily level of alcohol in 2006 were lowest in London and highest in Yorkshire and the Humber for men, and lowest in London and highest in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North West for women.
For example, while 40% of women in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North West consumed more than three units on the heaviest drinking day of the week compared to 27% of women in London. |
